Details regarding the choice of hydraulic fluid:
To make the best choice of hydraulic fluid, understanding the operating temperature in relation to your environment is crucial. In a closed circuit, consider the circuit temperature. The

hydraulic fluid should be selected to ensure the operational viscosity falls within the ideal range, as indicated by the shaded area in the selection diagram. It is advisable to opt for a higher viscosity class wherever possible. For example, with an ambient temperature of X °C, an operating temperature of 60 °C fits within the optimal viscosity range (shaded area) corresponding to viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; VG 68 should be selected for best performance. Remember, the case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, is consistently higher than the circuit temperature, and at no point should the system temperature exceed 115 °C. If the stated conditions cannot be met due to extreme operating parameters, adjustments may be necessary.
Hydraulic fluid:
When embarking on project planning, consult our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for detailed guidance on hydraulic fluid selection and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. Should you choose HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, adhere strictly to the technical data and seal limitations outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Ensure to specify the hydraulic fluid used when placing an order.
