Choosing the right hydraulic fluid involves understanding the interplay between operating and ambient temperatures: especially in closed circuits. It is paramount that:

The hydraulic fluid is selected to ensure the viscosity remains optimal within the designated temperature range-the shaded area in the selection diagram. Selecting the higher viscosity class is advised. For example: At an ambient temperature of X °C, an operating temperature of 60 °C correlates with viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; select VG 68 for best performance. Remember: Case drain temperatures, influenced by pressure and speed, exceed circuit temperatures, but must remain below 115 °C. If these conditions aren't met due to extreme operations, adjustments are essential.
Hydraulic Fluid Considerations:
Prior to project initiation, consult our datasheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (eco-friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for comprehensive guidance on fluid selection and application conditions. Note: The A4VG pump is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC. If utilizing HFD or environmentally friendly fluids, adhere to the technical data and seal restrictions detailed in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Clearly specify the hydraulic fluid used when placing orders.
