Choosing the correct hydraulic fluid requires a deep understanding of how the operating temperature interacts with ambient conditions, particularly within a closed circuit where the circuit temperature is paramount.
Selecting the appropriate hydraulic fluid is key, ensuring that its operating viscosity remains within the ideal range under operating temperature conditions - depicted as the shaded area on the selection diagram. We advise choosing the higher viscosity class for optimal results. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C with an operating temperature of 60 °C, the ideal operating viscosity (shaded area) suggests VG 46 or VG 68, with VG 68 being the preferable choice. Please be aware that the case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, will always exceed the circuit temperature. Under no circumstances should the system temperature exceed 115 °C. If these conditions cannot be met due to extreme operational demands, adjustments are necessary.
Hydraulic fluid:
Prior to commencing project planning, consult our comprehensive data sheets: RE 90220 for mineral oils, RE 90221 for eco-friendly hydraulic fluids, and RE 90223 for HF hydraulic fluids, to gain insights into fluid selection and application requirements. Note that the variable pump A4VG is not compatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC. Should HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids be employed, adhere to the technical and seal limitations detailed in RE 90221 and RE 90223. When placing an order, specify the hydraulic fluid being used to guarantee compatibility.
