Guidance for Selecting the Ideal Hydraulic Fluid:
Selecting the right hydraulic fluid requires understanding the operating temperature versus ambient temperature, specifically in closed circuit systems. The circuit temperature should be accurately known.

Choose a hydraulic fluid that ensures the operating viscosity stays within the optimal range-the highlighted section on the selection chart. It's advisable to choose the higher viscosity class when in doubt. Example: At ambient temperature X °C, set an operational temperature of 60 °C. The optimal viscosity range (highlighted) aligns with VG 46 or VG 68; select VG 68. Note: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, always exceeds the circuit temperature. System temperatures must never surpass 115 °C. If these parameters are challenged by extreme conditions, adjustments are required.
Hydraulic Fluid Considerations:
Before embarking on project planning, please consult our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for exhaustive insights into hydraulic fluid selection and application scenarios. The variable pump A4VG cannot operate with HFA, HFB, and HFC. When utilizing HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, adhere to the technical data and seal limitations outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Ensure to specify the hydraulic fluid in your order.
