Guidelines for selecting the perfect hydraulic fluid:
To choose the correct hydraulic fluid, it is crucial to have an understanding of the operating temperature in relation to the ambient temperature, especially within a closed circuit where the circuit temperature is a key factor. The

hydraulic fluid should be selected to ensure the operating viscosity within the intended temperature range remains optimal - as denoted by the shaded area in the selection diagram. We recommend opting for the higher viscosity class to enhance performance. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C, an operating temperature of 60 °C is achieved. Within the optimal operating viscosity range (shaded area), this aligns with viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68. The best choice in this scenario would be VG 68. Important: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, is consistently higher than the circuit temperature. Under no circumstances should the system's temperature exceed 115 °C. Should extreme operating parameters prevent adherence to these conditions.
Hydraulic fluid considerations:
Prior to commencing project planning, please consult our comprehensive data sheets: RE 90220 for mineral oil, RE 90221 for environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids, and RE 90223 for HF hydraulic fluids. These will provide detailed insight into fluid selection and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is not compatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. If using HFD or environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids, refer to the technical data and seal limitations outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Please specify the hydraulic fluid used when placing an order.
