The key to optimal performance lies in selecting the correct hydraulic fluid based on the operational and ambient temperatures. In a closed circuit, knowledge of the circuit temperature is crucial.

The hydraulic fluid selection must consider the operating viscosity within the desired temperature range, aligning with the optimum shaded area in the selection diagram. For assured performance, opt for the higher viscosity class. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X°C, an operating temperature of 60°C suggests viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68 as ideal; thus, VG 68 is recommended. Remember, the case drain temperature generally surpasses the circuit temperature due to pressure and speed, and should never exceed 115°C under any operational conditions.
Hydraulic Fluid Considerations:
Prior to embarking on project planning, we urge you to consult our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids). These resources offer critical insights on fluid selection and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG does not support HFA, HFB, and HFC operations. Should HFD or eco-friendly hydraulic fluids be employed, adhere to the technical and seal limitations outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Specify the hydraulic fluid you intend to use when placing your order.
