Choosing the perfect hydraulic fluid demands a comprehensive understanding of the operating temperature in comparison to the ambient temperature, specifically within a closed circuit. The
chosen hydraulic fluid must ensure the operating viscosity is within the optimum range as depicted in the selection diagram's shaded area. We advise opting for the higher viscosity class whenever feasible. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C with an operating temperature of 60 °C, the suitable viscosity classes are VG 46 or VG 68, with VG 68 being the preferred choice. Note: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, exceeds the circuit temperature. It is crucial that no part of the system exceeds 115 °C. In cases where operating conditions are extreme and cannot be controlled.
Hydraulic Fluid Considerations:
Before embarking on project planning, we recommend consulting our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for detailed insights on selecting the appropriate hydraulic fluid and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is not compatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. When using HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, adhere to the limitations on technical data and seals as specified in RE 90221 and RE 90223. When placing orders, please specify the hydraulic fluid in use.
