Choosing the correct hydraulic fluid is crucial for optimal performance. It requires a deep understanding of the operating temperature relative to the ambient temperature. In a closed circuit, this refers to the circuit temperature. The
hydraulic fluid must ensure that the operating viscosity within the temperature range falls within the optimal zone - illustrated in the selection diagram's shaded area. We recommend opting for the higher viscosity class whenever possible. For instance, with an ambient temperature of X°C and an operating temperature of 60°C, the optimal operating viscosity range (shaded area) corresponds to viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68. Select VG 68 for superior performance. Note: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, will always be higher than the circuit temperature. It is vital that no point in the system exceeds 115°C. If these conditions are not feasible due to extreme operating parameters, adjustments must be made.
Hydraulic fluid:
Before you embark on project planning, peruse our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for in-depth guidance on selecting hydraulic fluids and understanding application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is inappropriate for use with HFA, HFB, and HFC. Should HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids be utilized, the specific limitations regarding technical data and seals, as detailed in RE 90221 and RE 90223, must be strictly observed. When placing an order, it's essential to specify the hydraulic fluid being used.
