To ensure optimal performance, the right hydraulic fluid choice is crucial, considering the operational temperature vis-à-vis the ambient temperature, especially within a closed circuit. The
hydraulic fluid must be chosen so that its operating viscosity fits within the optimum range at the designated operating temperature, illustrated by the shaded area of our selection diagram. Our recommendation is to select the higher viscosity class in every scenario. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C, set an operating temperature of 60 °C. In the ideal operating viscosity range (shaded area), this corresponds to viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; opt for VG 68. Remember: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, is invariably higher than the circuit temperature. The system temperature should never exceed 115 °C, and the above conditions must be adhered to, even under extreme operating conditions.
Hydraulic fluid:
Before embarking on project planning, please consult our comprehensive data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for in-depth guidance on hydraulic fluid selection and application prerequisites. Note that the variable pump A4VG is unsuitable for HFA, HFB, and HFC operations. If employing HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, comply with the limitations on technical data and seals as specified in RE 90221 and RE 90223. When placing orders, clearly state the hydraulic fluid being utilized.
