Essential Details for Selecting the Ideal Hydraulic Fluid:
Choosing the perfect hydraulic fluid demands understanding of the operating temperature, which relates to the ambient temperature. In a closed circuit, focus on the circuit temperature. The hydraulic fluid should be selected to ensure that the operating viscosity within the temperature range stays in the optimal range-depicted as the shaded area in the selection diagram. It is advised to opt for the higher viscosity class whenever possible. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C, an operating temperature of 60 °C is established. Within the optimal viscosity range (shaded area), this equates to viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; the recommended choice is VG 68. Important: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, typically surpasses the circuit temperature. At no point should the system's temperature exceed 115 °C. If the set conditions cannot be met due to extreme parameters, adjustments must be considered.

Before embarking on project planning, it is crucial to consult our comprehensive data sheets-RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids) and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids)-for in-depth insights on hydraulic fluid selection and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. If utilizing HFD or eco-friendly hydraulic fluids, adhere to the technical data and seal limitations outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223.
