Important Details on Selecting the Optimal Hydraulic Fluid:
Choosing the correct hydraulic fluid is crucial. It requires understanding the operating temperature in relation to the ambient temperature, specifically the circuit temperature in a closed system.

Select a hydraulic fluid that maintains the operating viscosity within the optimal range for your temperature conditions, as depicted in the shaded area of the selection diagram. We recommend opting for a higher viscosity class when necessary. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C, with an operating temperature set at 60 °C, the ideal viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68 should be considered, with VG 68 being preferable. Remember, the case drain temperature is influenced by pressure and speed and will always exceed the circuit temperature. Ensure no point in the system surpasses 115 °C, especially under extreme operating parameters.
Hydraulic fluid:
Before initiating project planning, please consult our comprehensive data sheets: RE 90220 for mineral oil, RE 90221 for environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids, and RE 90223 for HF hydraulic fluids. These resources provide detailed guidance on selecting the right hydraulic fluid and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. When using HFD or environmentally friendly fluids, adhere to the technical data and seal limitations specified in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Indicate your chosen hydraulic fluid when placing an order.
