Selecting the ideal hydraulic fluid requires a comprehensive understanding of how operating temperature corresponds with the ambient setting. In a closed system, this refers specifically to the circuit temperature. The

hydraulic fluid choice should ensure that the operating viscosity throughout the temperature range remains within the optimal zone-depicted as the shaded region in the selection diagram. We strongly advise opting for the higher viscosity class. For instance, with an ambient temperature of X °C, an operating temperature of 60 °C aligns with viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; hence, VG 68 is recommended. Important: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, will always exceed the circuit temperature. System temperatures must never surpass 115 °C under any circumstances, even if challenging operational conditions arise.
Hydraulic Fluid Considerations:
Prior to embarking on project planning, consult our detailed data sheets-RE 90220 for mineral oil, RE 90221 for environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, and RE 90223 for HF hydraulic fluids-to make an informed choice on hydraulic fluid and application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC. If utilizing HFD or environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids, adhere strictly to the specifications regarding technical data and seals as outlined in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Ensure to specify the hydraulic fluid type when placing an order.
