Guidelines for Selecting the Ideal Hydraulic Fluid:
Selecting the right hydraulic fluid is crucial. It involves understanding the operating temperature in relation to the ambient temperature, especially in a closed circuit where the circuit temperature plays a pivotal role. The

hydraulic fluid should be selected to ensure that its operating viscosity remains within the optimum range during temperature fluctuations-illustrated as the shaded area in our selection diagram. We advise opting for the higher viscosity class whenever in doubt. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X °C where the operating temperature is 60 °C, choose a viscosity class VG 68 from the optimum operating range. Note: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, generally exceeds the circuit temperature but must remain below 115 °C across the system. If these conditions are not met due to extreme parameters, adjustments are necessary.
Hydraulic Fluid Specifications:
Prior to commencing project planning, please consult our data sheets: RE 90220 for mineral oil, RE 90221 for environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids, and RE 90223 for HF hydraulic fluids. These provide comprehensive information on selecting hydraulic fluids and understanding application conditions. Note that the variable pump A4VG is incompatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC fluids. If using HFD or environmentally friendly fluids, refer to the restrictions on technical data and seals as described in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Always specify the hydraulic fluid used upon ordering to ensure optimal compatibility.
