Selecting the optimal hydraulic fluid demands an understanding of the operating temperature in relation to the ambient temperature: especially in a closed circuit, the circuit temperature is critical. Always aim for the operating viscosity to fall within the optimal range - indicated as the shaded area on the selection diagram. It's advisable to opt for a higher viscosity class. For instance, at an ambient temperature of X°C, if the operating temperature is 60°C, the ideal operating viscosity range (shaded area) suggests viscosity classes VG 46 or VG 68; choosing VG 68 is recommended. Remember, due to pressure and speed effects, the case drain temperature can exceed the circuit temperature. Ensure no system temperature surpasses 115°C. Should these conditions be challenging due to extreme operating parameters.
Hydraulic fluid should be carefully selected to ensure it remains within the optimal operating viscosity range throughout the temperature range, highlighted as the shaded area in the selection diagram. We encourage choosing the higher viscosity class for assurance. Example: With an ambient temperature of X °C leading to an operating temperature of 60 °C, the ideal operating viscosity range (shaded area) corresponds to VG 46 or VG 68; VG 68 is the preferred choice. Note: The case drain temperature, influenced by pressure and speed, will always be higher than the circuit temperature. Ensure no part of the system exceeds 115 °C. If the above conditions are unachievable due to severe operating parameters.
Hydraulic fluid:
Before embarking on project planning, consult our data sheets RE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids), and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic fluids) for comprehensive guidance on selecting hydraulic fluid and related application conditions. Please note that the variable pump A4VG is not compatible with HFA, HFB, and HFC. If employing HFD or environmentally acceptable hydraulic fluids, adhere strictly to the technical data and seal limitations stated in RE 90221 and RE 90223. Kindly specify the hydraulic fluid used when placing orders.
